The Cosmopoint Group of Companies’ wheel of transformation began in the 90’s when a string of centers were successively set up in the Klang Valley by an entrepreneurial businessman.

The industry was in a transformational state when the field of Information Technology (IT) was beginning to experience unprecedented growth. In response to this development, Cosmopoint Sdn. Bhd was established by Dato’ Idrus Mohd Satha in October 1991 to cater to the growing needs among many quarters for IT education and training.

Today, the group has 13 branch campuses, strategically located in all major towns of the country which are managed and operated under the Cosmopoint International College of Technology (CICT). Through the years, the presence of these branch campuses have largely benefited groups of people who seek to excel in a number of fields including business administration, management, multimedia, graphic designing, computer science and so on.

Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMU) was established after the Group received the approval from the Education Ministry in recognition of its contribution in providing quality and affordable education to the public.

KLMU is regarded as part of Cosmopoint’s long-term plans to become the leading education and training institution of the new era, having long visualized a far greater role in sharing and providing the expertise, knowledge and experiences it has acquired over a period of nearly 20 years.

Cosmopoint Worldwide Licensing Pte. Ltd. was set up specifically to expand the company’s business beyond the Malaysian waters and under this subsidiary, business partners are sought for specific joint venture schemes including franchising the college’s expertise and success models besides establishing new centers overseas. Several partnerships have resulted from this including from Indonesia, Sudan, Brunei, Philippines and there is already an indication the network will be further increased in due course.

Known for its dynamism, Cosmopoint acquired the Malaysian’s Master Franchise from the world’s largest corporate training company, New Horizons Computer Learning Center, USA. This unit will focus in giving quality and relevant training to companies to train its employees, fully approved under the “Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad” (PSMB), a training and retraining scheme among the private sectors under the Ministry of Human Resources.

Incorporated in the 90’s, IMS-Solution is another subsidiary which was set up to develop unique and customized e-learning solutions to both companies within and outside the Cosmopoint Group of Companies. Besides this, the company has been primarily involved in the production of multimedia, graphics, audio, video and animation products for various commercial projects and assignments.
